Working memory is the memory we use for while completing a certain task. It is helpful for planning ahead, solving problems and organizing. Our working memory is different than our long-term memory because our working memory can only hold a certain amount of information before it gets overloaded.
Some kids have a smaller working memory and that makes it hard for them to remember and process information at the same time. These children may struggle with:
- reading and reading retention
- starting, prioritizing, and/or completing tasks
- following directions
- time management
- focusing on a task and following it through to completion
- completing math problems mentally
These activities will help to improve working memory.
The five printable and reusable activities included are:
- How Many Hats?
- What Order Was That?
- Which Animal is Missing?
- Shopping List
- Remember Ten
